I noticed a gap in the industry for specialized skills in hotel design, and I wanted to provide a comprehensive program that covers everything from interior design principles to sustainable practices. HOST: That's fantastic. In your experience, what are some current trends in hotel design that students can expect to learn about in this course? GUEST: We'll be discussing topics like biophilic design, which incorporates natural elements into interior spaces, as well as technology integration, and of course, sustainable design practices. HOST: Those sound like very relevant and exciting topics. Now, teaching a course like this must come with its own set of challenges. What would you say are some of the biggest challenges you've faced or anticipate students might face? GUEST: One challenge is keeping up with the rapidly changing technology in CAD software and staying current with new design trends. For students, it might be grasping the technical drawing skills and applying them in real-world scenarios. HOST: Great insights.
