About this Podcast

HOST: Welcome to our podcast, today we're talking with an expert in the field of Total Productive Maintenance, or TPM. Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your experience with TPM? GUEST: Sure, I've been working in operations management for over 20 years, and I've seen firsthand how effective TPM strategies can be in improving productivity and reducing downtime. HOST: That's great. And I understand you're here to talk about a new course you're teaching, the "Executive Certificate in TPM Innovations". Could you give us a brief overview of what that entails? GUEST: Absolutely. This program is designed to provide operations managers, maintenance professionals, and engineering leaders with cutting-edge knowledge in TPM. It covers topics like lean manufacturing, process improvement, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and equipment reliability. HOST: It sounds like a very comprehensive program. And I imagine it's quite relevant to the current industry trends. Could you share some of the trends you're seeing in TPM and process improvement? GUEST: Certainly. One trend we're seeing is the increasing use of technology, such as IoT and AI, to monitor and optimize equipment performance. Another trend is the focus on people development and creating a culture of continuous improvement. HOST: That's really interesting. And I'm sure those trends present some challenges as well. What are some of the biggest challenges you've seen in implementing TPM strategies? GUEST: One of the biggest challenges is getting buy-in from all levels of the organization. TPM requires a cultural shift, and it can be difficult to get everyone on board. Another challenge is the need for continuous training and development to keep up with the latest trends and technologies. HOST: Those are definitely important considerations. And finally, where do you see the future of TPM and process improvement heading? GUEST: I believe we'll continue to see a greater emphasis on technology and data-driven decision making. At the same time, I think there will be a growing recognition of the importance of people and culture in driving long-term success. HOST: Well, thank you so much for sharing your insights and experiences with us today. It's been a pleasure talking with you. GUEST: Thank you for having me. It's been a great conversation.
